Being Content with God’s Will with Jessie Synan

Being Content with God’s Will Show Notes

Being content with God’s Will is the topic for today’s podcast at Contentment Matters. Jessie Synan from Pray With Confidence is my guest. Jessie tells her story of how she was discontented with the job she was at and how she surrendered to doing God’s Will. She shares the amazing story of how that led to a worldwide ministry she started in 2020 and the blog, Pray With Confidence was born. It is a thriving ministry with 150,000 visitors a month 😮, an engaging email list, and a busy Facebook group. By following God’s lead for this ministry, Jessie is content with God’s Will and the life that He is leading her today.

In this episode, she answers questions like:

  • How do you invite God into your day?
  • How quickly will God move?
  • What if I don’t have the right equipment to start doing His will?
  • Can I be content in what I know God’s Will is for me?
  • What does my to-do list have to do with God’s Will for me?

You can find Jessie online at: Praywithconfidence.com and in the Facebook group: Praywithconfidence. Grab the free booklet, “How to have focused prayer in an increasingly distracting world.” Or you can sign up for the daily prayer prompts, a less than 5-minute read and prayer.

The other ministry that Jessie referenced during our podcast today, founded by Jessika Sanders, can be found here: https://www.prayingthroughministries.org The focus of the ministry is praying through the loss of a child(ren) or situations when your child is in the NICU/PICU.

Bible verses in today’s episode:

Woman on path with hands up and finish line ribbon around her
Are you okay with not 100% knowing God’s will for your life?

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105 ESV

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.

Acts 20:34 NIV

As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

Genesis 50:20 ESV

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Philippians 4:8 ESV

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13 ESV

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.

1 John 3:4 ESV

The Greek word for Lawlessness is anomia, which is the condition without law, iniquity, and wickedness. In Vine’s Dictionary, lawlessness is doing sin. The definition of sin is “the rejection of the law, or will, of God and the substitution of the will of self.”
